Youth & Children's Ministry at Bvumbwe New Life Church Centre
The youth and children's work at the New Life church centre is being run by Mrs Nellie Ncherewatha who is doing an excellent job along with support from Marian Williams. Every Wednesday afternoon 45 teenage girls meet together after school for a girl's bible club. Nellie reports that they are 'punctual, dedicated and so eager to learn'. Activities include bible teaching, singing, drawing and learning how to crochet. Nellie asks for your prayers that God will prosper and bless this work.
The NLC centre is also well placed for working with the large number of younger children who live in the surrounding area. Nellie who is a former primary school teacher is also running a children's group at the centre which meets for two hours 3 times a week. They listen to bible stories, have some play activities and learn songs and memory verses in fact they enjoy coming so much they usually turn up long before the starting time! Nellie hopes to take the children's choir to visit other New Life churches to encourage children's ministry more widely. In order to reach the older boys we have recently appointed a 20yr old young man called Matafale as youth worker with both the New Life & Rock Springs churches. Matafale spent two years training and working with 'Trailbalzers' in South Africa - an organisation that reaches young people with the Christian gospel through sport. Please pray for him as he starts this challenging and potentially fruitful new role.
