Literally Building the Church

Over the years the missionaries here have been involved with many building projects beginning with the construction of the Church Clinic wards and houses at New Life Church in the early 1990's. In many parts of Africa there is generally very little maintenance of buildings and resources.

Experiences of a Gap Year Student

Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light (Matthew ch 11 vs. 28-30). From living in Malawi for six months starting at the latter part of 2003, from my time here this year, and from talking to missionaries and members of Chisomo trust, this is a segment of the scriptures that comes as regular comfort for those living and working, doing God's will here in Malawi.

Working with the younger generation

"One of our personal desires ever since first visiting this country was to reach out to the young people. Youngsters in Malawi do not have it easy, they are barely able to go through adolescence before the harsh realities of poverty; HIV/Aids and unemployment often force children to face the problems of adulthood prematurely." - Phil Harvey
